My name is Simon Steward
I’m the owner of Anglia Roofline. Debbie ( Company Administrator ) and I have been married 20 years on April 24th 2012. We live in Taverham Norwich, with our son Ryan and miniature (3.4kg) Jack Russell, Tarka. While I certainly don’t claim to have the business nous of Richard Branson, here – however – are a few ideals that both Debbie and I hold dear:
In our modern day information technology world we hear often expressions like “business philosophy”, “business culture” and “business ethos” (sounds like a Greek philosopher to me) talked about by business commentators.
Being in my fourties (mature by Internet standards) and dyslexic myself, these terms appear flimsy, maybe more suited to communities or nations then businesses. No, the companies I most admire don’t overcomplicate their message with wishy-washy language. If the message is straight forward and transparent, then people find it easier to move forward.
Whilst, I don’t really know what an ethos is but here are 4 principals that I believe in:
- Being interested in people
Everybody has a story to tell. I believe that in business – just as in life – that without the quality to really hear what somebody is saying, there is no communication taking place. - Find out what motivates people
We all have a finite amount of resources, be it time, knowledge, money, or property. My customers don’t really want Pvcu replacement Fascias & Guttering. No, they want more spare time to travel, or play with their grandchildren. - Treat each situation on it’s own merit
Of course it’s easy to fall in to the habit of relying on our reflexes, acting out of conditioned behaviour. In our work – the replacement of soffits & bargeboards – challenges like the walls not being straight or water traps in the Roofline ensures that no two jobs are the same. - Don’t over Promise, Over Perform
Very simple this one, if you say something make damn sure you do it.
